After you are happy with the recording, simply click “Click Here to Save” link that appears. Read the Format section below for the suggested formatting of the audio. And don’t worry if you make any mistakes, I’ll edit them out!:
Powered by Vocaroo Voice Recorder
Format:
- Announce who you are and what you do
“Hi, this is Paul Colaianni. I host the personal growth show The Overwhelmed Brain…”
- Announce your message
“…Mornings can be a tough time to find your energy, so today I want to share with you 3 ways to get energized in the morning. One, pour yourself a tall glass of ice water and…”
- Give the listeners a CTA (call to action):
“…if you want to get in touch with me for personal coaching, you can visit my website at www.mysite.com, or send me an email at paul@email.com. Also, look for my new book on amazon called “My New Book”…”
- Parting words:
“…it was great to talk with you and I look forward to connecting with you on my site! Remember that you are always more than you think you are. Have a great day.”
Those were just some examples, but that’s the general outline. Remember, this is your spot. You don’t have to say, “Thank you Paul” or “It’s great to be on The Overwhelmed Brain”. All you have to do is bring value to the listeners so that when they listen to you, they’ll be enticed to visit your site. If you listened to the audio I linked to above, you’ll hear that I first intro you, then play your clip, then make some positive commentary that complements what you said. This allows the listeners to hear who they know and trust endorse you.
Plus, during the outro, I mention your contact information again.
Rate Structure:
- It’s really simple: $250 for a 3 to 10 minute segment
NOTE: Audio clips will require approval so that no “bad” info goes out
(“Jump off a bridge” is bad info, for example).
What you get:
- An entire episode dedicated to you and your message, with my personal endorsement
- Played to an audience of thousands (Show currently generates 60,000+ downloads a month and rising at 10% to 18% per month)
- No other sponsors will be aired on your episode(s)
- Your spot will be live for at least six months
- For an extra $100, your name and bio will be added to the Coach’s Corner page: http://theoverwhelmedbrain.com/coach/
- Episode will be tweeted at least twice a day for a week, reaching multiple twitter networks of thousands.
- Episode will be shared on public Facebook Page
Tips for success:
- The audience may be hearing your voice for the first time. Be personable. If you are not used to broadcasting, it sometimes helps to overemphasize inflection to emote passion
- You can use the built in microphone on your laptop, or a USB microphone to record the audio file. Please find a quiet place with carpeting and curtains if possible (dampens echo)
- The audience is used to down to earth, practical steps to improve their lives in some way. There’s a difference between, “Think positively” and “Take a 3 minute break to watch nature to help you think positively”
- The more unique your tips or advice, the more likely you will attract people back to your website and products
- Use words like “you” instead of “everyone listening” or “all you listeners”. i.e. “I want you to succeed. You have it in you to do this…” as opposed to “I want all the listeners out there to succeed…”
- Listeners love personal stories related to your advice, if you have any to share
If you’d like to purchase, here’s what I need from you:
- Your audio clip (Windows and Mac both have built in recorders. If you are not familiar with audio technology, please let me know and I will help you!)
- OR your script (if you’d like me record it instead)
- Your Twitter handle (if you use Twitter)
- A picture of you with your bio, website, and contact info (see http://theoverwhelmedbrain.com/coach/ for example)
- The date and time you’d like the show released (if you don’t indicate, it gets released typically within 1 to 7 days of receiving the audio clip)
- Payment (link will be provided after approval)
Remember, the more the listeners are exposed to you, the more they will get to know, like, and trust you. That’s why it’s important to make an impact. If your advice is unique and/or surprising, they will want to know more about you. This doesn’t mean you need to purchase spot after spot, but packages are available if you’d like.
