What is it with pervasive thoughts about people you don’t particularly care about? You already don’t want to see them in person, so how do you keep them from appearing in your mind?

In segment one of today’s show, I read a letter from a woman who can’t get her husband’s ex-wife out of her mind. How do you get rid of consistent, unwelcome thoughts like this?

How can you finally rid yourself of that one persistent thought in your mind’s eye? I have a few suggestions.

Since I moved in with my girlfriend in 2015, I’ve been feeding our fish, Flash, every morning. She says I feed him too much which is why he is so much larger than when I first moved in. I say he got larger because we got a bigger tank.

I don’t disagree that letting go of the ego is a fantastic state to aspire to, but I wanted to know what would happen if I nurtured my ego in a healthy way that best served me and others around me.

In this article (and podcast episode), I visit the ego and share how to build and evolve it so that it releases your fears, insecurities and anxieties.

Who knows? Maybe you just need to inflate your ego a bit to create the peace and ease you want in your life.
